Experiencing, understanding, and shaping automation – with the new OpenTrons systems, students at celisca can now engage even more directly with the world of laboratory automation.
Thanks to the support of the Opentrons Education Program, celisca has acquired and installed two new OpenTrons systems. These platforms ideally complement the existing teaching and research infrastructure and open up exciting new opportunities for educating future experts in laboratory automation.
The focus is on developing practical skills: from programming automated systems and integrating subsystems to networking within complex hierarchical automation architectures and designing application-specific workflows and visualizations. This hands-on approach enables students not only to operate automation systems but to actively design and improve them.
Laboratory automation is a key driver of modern science. It enhances efficiency, quality, and reproducibility in research and analytics and plays a central role in shaping the laboratories of the future. Providing comprehensive education in this field is therefore essential to equip students for the growing demands of digital, networked, and data-driven laboratory environments.
For many years, celisca has been developing innovative solutions for the automation of analytical and bioscientific processes, bridging the gap between research, technology, and practical application. With the addition of the new OpenTrons systems, celisca continues to strengthen its position as a pioneer in laboratory automation and as a leading center for education and training in this rapidly evolving field.
A sincere thank-you goes to Opentrons for their generous support and excellent collaboration in bringing this project to life!
