What once started as a research project has now become an integral part of daily laboratory operations: our mobile robots have matured and are now full-fledged research members of the celisca team.
They currently operate eight different semi- and fully automated stations, transporting labware and samples and handing them over seamlessly to interface robots.
Their applications span bioanalytics, ICP/MS, LC/MS and GC/MS, automated crystallization, automated glass cleaning, and many more. The robots autonomously navigate between different laboratory rooms, open doors, use elevators, and can be operated in swarm mode with priority-based scheduling, allowing multiple processes to run in parallel efficiently. Running in continuous operation, they ensure a smooth material flow and maximum laboratory uptime.
And most importantly: mobile robots have proven to be perfectly suitable for laboratory environments — robust, reliable, and ready for complex automation tasks.
